Why it is in the guide

The pub’s story

The Pitt gives a 1970s industrial building on Granton waterfront a new use as a street-food market, public bar and community venue. Firstport helped finance the move to 20 West Shore Road in 2024, and the converted warehouse opened that December. Its heated indoor plaza offers a place to linger as well as somewhere to eat. The project expanded into an adjacent creative warehouse in May 2025, announcing residents including a blacksmith and bicycle repair business. The Scottish Street Food Awards final took place here the following month, with Smoked Tamago named champion. In February 2026 the site completed a large rooftop solar installation. For a visit, enter the ordinary free market from Granton Promenade; ticketed events have a separate West Shore Road entrance. The bar opens Thursday to Sunday from half past eleven, while coffee and food stalls keep their own service times.

Sources & confidence

Council evidence identifies the 1970s industrial unit at the exact Granton address. Firstport records financing for the new premises; operator accounts document opening, adjacent expansion and hosting the 2025 Scottish Street Food Awards. Local Energy Scotland independently records the completed February 2026 solar installation. These establish six real chronology phases without using the former Pitt Street site or source-refresh dates. Official main and FAQ pages confirm ordinary free entry and Thursday-Sunday bar hours; Monday-Wednesday are closed. The point is inside the retained named OSM site polygon. The approved scoped warehouse name-sign portrait and medal are prepared locally. This does not claim a reconstructed full elevation or publication readiness.
