The pub’s story
Cask & Barrel Southside is a modern pub in an older Southside tenement frontage, opened in its present form in 2010. Its strongest physical signature is the broad, dark-green shopfront across numbers 24-26 and the single-room interior organised around a large wooden horseshoe bar. Contemporary and specialist accounts describe a drinks-first ale house with changing cask beer, sport and a weekly folk session rather than an antique interior preserved unchanged. Its screen history arrived when Good Omens dressed the West Preston Street exterior as The Resurrectionist for the second season. The fictional name belonged to the production, not the real pub, and the checked evidence supports the entrance/frontage scene rather than a claim that the real interior played the whole fictional bar.

Each entry separates the real venue from its fictional role and states which part of the site was filmed. Scene notes avoid major spoilers.

What to notice
- 01
Read the two-part frontage: the main Cask and Barrel sign spans numbers 24-26 while the smaller right bay is lettered “Ale House”.
- 02
Inside, the large horseshoe-shaped wooden bar is the defining feature; it is modern pub character, not evidence of an untouched Victorian room.
- 03
The real venue is Cask & Barrel Southside. “The Resurrectionist” was temporary fictional production signage.
- 04
The verified screen connection is to the frontage and entrance; no interior filming claim is made here.
- 05
CAMRA reports that step-free access and an accessible toilet are not available; confirm directly if access arrangements are important.

Sources & confidence
Current identity, address, contact and hours come from the operator. CAMRA and independent pub coverage support the 2010 present-form opening, horseshoe layout and ale-house character, but the fittings are not presented as an untouched historic interior. Two independent screen-location sources support the Good Omens frontage transformation and episode-three scene. No interior filming or additional episode is claimed.
