Why it is in the guide

The pub’s story

Scotts at Port Edgar is a 2018 conversion rather than a traditional harbour pub. Buzzworks opened its first east-coast venue here in September 2018, adapting what the project team described as an old boating shed. Contemporary coverage records how the dominant steel structure and boat-shed façade drove a “warm industrial” interior: reclaimed material, planting, soft seating, an island bar and broad windows were used to make a large waterfront shell feel hospitable. A first-floor level, entrance stair and wall of windows were added during the conversion, deliberately turning the three bridges and Firth into part of the experience. The current operation is an all-day bar and restaurant at Port Edgar Marina. Its significance is its recent adaptive reuse and view, not a falsely ancient pub pedigree.

During your visit

What to notice

  1. 01

The steel frame and boat-shed proportions explain why the rooms feel larger and more industrial than an older town-centre pub.

  2. 02

The windows and raised level are deliberately composed around the three Forth bridges.

  3. 03

Scotts and nearby Outboard have different hours and offers; check the individual venue before making a trip.

Sources & confidence

The live operator confirms current trading and the marina bar offer. Buzzworks' own timeline fixes September 2018, while contemporary DRAM coverage documents the old boating shed, retained steel frame and warm-industrial layout. CAMRA independently categorises the venue as a pub. No earlier harbour-pub lineage is claimed.
